How Netintelligence Works
Netintelligence is considered an End Point software solution. This simply means a piece of software that physically resides on a device at the end of a network - in this case, on your home computer(s) at the end your broadband connection. As the software is actually installed on your computer, it is ideally placed to act as a ‘guardian’ for you - monitoring harmful activity, taking appropriate actions and then reporting back to you.
Some of the ‘rules’ that Netintelligence will follow, are predetermined - what to do when a virus is detected for example - but most of them are set by you, via your online Control Center. The software is programmed to ‘talk’ to the Netintelligence databases at least once a minute when you are using your broadband connection. As well as receiving its new instructions, Netintelligence will also report back on the activities it has been asked to monitor – the data it reports back is held on central Netintelligence databases, so that you can access your data from anywhere via a comprehensive set of reports which are made available to you online.
